From Hunger to Food Security.

The world’s population is increasing quickly, and it is predicted to grow to almost 10 billion people in 2050. In about thirty years the earth will gain 2 billion extra inhabitants who will also have to live, work and eat. Fortunately, our prosperity is also predicted to increase, which means that diets will be subject to change.

We want to identify options, opportunities and strategies for sustainable and reliable global and local food systems that contribute to healthier diets, create food security and end malnutrition. The key knowledge challenge is to bring together the different perspectives on and assess the trade-offs between sustainable consumption and healthy nutrition, robust supply chains and climate-smart production systems.
